Daniel Dooreck is our kind of potter head. His brand, Danny D's Mud Shop, isn’t trying to do anything fancy or complicated. The way he puts it, he’s just turning mud into ‘really nice’ pieces of art. Out of a small studio, located just down the street from Dad Grass’s LA HQ, Danny handcrafts his signature style of ceramics with their distinctive freehand carvings and illustrations. The artwork pulls from California motorcycle culture, cowboys and the west, tattoo artists who inspire him and other things we both share a love for…like vintage Toyotas! It takes him three days to create each piece, including throwing, drying, carving and painting. But when they hit the stores, they usually sell out in minutes. He already had a well-deserved following when he got written up in the LA Times a couple months ago. Now he’s a bit of a local legend. He’s even moved out of his garage and into an actual studio. Yeah, he’s blowing up. Don’t be fooled though. He’s still the humblest and sweetest dude behind a wheel.
