A notable feature of Danny D's Mudshop studio is the inviting, down-to-earth atmosphere he has created surrounding his workspace, so we visited him again to talk all-things music.
"When I do pottery it's very relaxing so I just kinda match the energy. My playlist is comprised of a lot of folk music. Nothing too electronic or techno, it's more harmony and nice vocals. I listen to a lot of--people kind of make fun of me-- I listen to a lot of "sad girl" music or like "lesbian music." I think that's because of boygenius--I like them! They're good! Yeah that's kind of a running joke on my Instagram right now, but I think it's funny, like I said the music is good! Then you randomly find little blues like Junior Kimbrough, which is technically blue grass."

"When I started throwing I was listening to a lot of The Black Keys, but old The Black Keys, so it wasn't their new pop-y stuff, more just nice guitar and barely any vocals. And then I started gravitating towards some sort of rock, but then it started leading towards Big Thief--they released an album in January and I really enjoyed it. Then that really spiraled me into this folk-y..I think Spotify calls it 'New American Folk'. It just calms me down and gives me this nice space to throw. Also it's nice ambient music. It's upbeat and the pace is really nice for me as well."
