This one's for all the moms out there who work on and off the clock. What better way to wind down than with these curated tunes by P.F. Candle Co.'s own Kristen Pumphrey? We recently pulled together a pop-up shop at her Echo Park flagship store that kicked-off on 4/20 with good scents, good vibes, & fresh bevs. Though the pop-up has ended, we've made a new friend down on Sunset Blvd and are keeping it tight with our local LA businesses.
About Kristen & her playlist:
"Hi, I'm Kristen, the Founder, Creative Director, and Owner/Operator of P.F. Candle Co.! I run P.F. with my husband, Tom, and we live in the Pasadena area with our daughter and two rambunctious dogs.
I created this playlist for a "wind down" from the workday type of energy. As a small business owner, work-life balance can be difficult to achieve, so I like to go for "work-life separation" - creating distinct zones for each part of your life so that you can be fully immersed and present. I do this through rituals that involve fragrance, music, changing into different clothes, watering plants - certain actions that will trigger you to the next part of your day.
When I get home, I always turn on the FM radio or put on a Spotify station. Then I'll use fragrance to help bookend the day - lighting my candles or incense or essential oil diffuser signals to my brain that it's time to start decompressing. Lately I've been really into popping one of the
Dad Grass Deluxe Gummies - super mellow!
The playlist is an assortment of 60s jams, old school country, 70s rock, and there's one contemporary song on there by my girl Lana (she just fits the vibe). It's designed to start higher energy and segue into low key mood, mirroring the way your energy is wound up when you get home and relaxes as you make dinner and settle into the evening."
