We’re kickin’ off our refreshed Creator Series with Everwave Creative, the minds behind some of our favorite moments on film. From the sun-soaked vibes of our Leisure Drinks to the nostalgic mischief of our Deluxe Gummies, they’ve been helping us take the Dad Grass low-dose family to new creative highs. With a sharp eye, a 16mm camera, and a deep appreciation for letting things unfold naturally, Everwave captures the kind of mellow magic we’re all about. We caught up with them to talk inspiration, storytelling, and what ‘leisure’ really looks like behind the scenes, so press play on their selection of grooves below and enjoy the ride.

1. Tell us about your first impression when you heard the words “Leisure Drinks.” What kind of imagery or mood immediately came to mind?
Leisure reminds me of slow times on a warm beach in a tropical place.
2. The photos you captured feel nostalgic yet fresh—how do you approach blending retro aesthetics with modern storytelling?
I've always been drawn to capturing imagery through a film format and was lucky enough to work with Mikey who translates spectacular on any format, but especially on film. I owe it to Mikey.
3. What was your vision for this shoot, and how did you go about bringing that to life on set?
Well, I owe a lot of credit to my childhood / current best friend Andrew Gibson. When Dad Grass reached out to me I wanted to get Andrew involved and he really brought these ideas to the next level.
We pulled inspirations from the last shoot with Mikey and the location, but wanted to build in more of a storyline and we came up with these fun moments with Mikey. Also filming it completely on 16mm felt right for this shoot.
4. The cast had so much character—can you tell us a bit about the talent and how you directed them into such natural, laid-back moments?
We didn't need to do all too much as Mikey just wore his everyday clothes. We stylized some scenes with color but yeah we just let Mikey wear what felt comfortable and he nailed it.
5. Were there any candid or unexpected moments that stood out while shooting this series?
Yeah, the pizza part! We ordered some Pizza and at that point we were all a couple leisure drinks deep and just went with some funny ideas and had fun with it.
6. As an artist, what draws you to shoot lifestyle and brand storytelling campaigns like this one?
Working with brands that give us the creative freedom to tell their story. When you all approached us to create this with you all, it was very exciting how you left it all up to use to get creative and tell Dad Grass's story through our vision and sense of humor.
7. Do you have a favorite frame from this shoot? What’s the story behind that shot?
I loved the frame when Mikey became the pizza guy. It was a last minute decision and we all had a good laugh about it.
8. Last one—what does #LeisureTime look like for you when you’re off the clock?
Hanging out at the beach.
